Inclusion

What is it?

Our inclusion team are responsible for supporting mainstream and special schools to tackle inequalities through our SEND, Girls Football Partnership, Boys Move & WHISPA programmes. This targeted work is vital to support the health and wellbeing of our most disadvantaged young people.

Our Inclusion Development Officer is specifically responsible for the Inspire2 group, which consists of 11 special schools in Leicestershire. Through their Inspire2 membership, the special schools have access to appropriate programmes and events giving their pupils positive experiences of physical activity and the opportunity to be physically active.

Our City SEND competition calendar is accessible to all Leicester City schools as part of the ‘free school games offer’ and gives all children with SEND in mainstream and special schools’ access to various competitions and the opportunity to represent the City at Level 3 events.

What do you offer?

In addition to our calendar of competitions, we offer many different programmes, some of which can be specifically designed for individual schools.

We aim to:

  • Challenge inequality for vulnerable & minority groups.
  • Creating equal opportunities for all young people.
  • Young people experiencing and accepting the diverse range of needs and ability within their community.
  • Raising the profile of disability sport & opportunities.
  • ‘Give girls equal access to football in schools by 2024’
