Boys Move
Boys Move is our Intervention Programme designed by the Youth Sport Trust to support boys to build confidence, address behavioural issues and use physical activity as a way to explore their own relationship with school.
Boys Move is offered to groups in years 7,8, and 9 who have been identified as having low confidence/self-esteem and/or negative behaviour within school and who need support around emotional understanding/control, and stress management.
Following 2 years of delivering the programme, Boys Move has now be redesigned as a 10-week programme of delivery in which students will participate in weekly physical activity and discussion-based sessions where they will explore their feelings and emotions, their school life, their bodies and identities, and tools to take into their lives to support positive mental and Physical health.

Retired Leicester Riders Player on the Teaching Team!
We have been very lucky to be able to work to add a new member to the Boys Move delivery team. Working in partnership with WBR Group we have now added Mo Walker – recently retired Leicester Riders Basketballer to the teaching team.
Mo has an incredible story that bought him from Canada across the world to play basketball. He has played across Europe before finding a home in Leicester with the Riders and contributing to the championship success riders have enjoyed recently. His story is one of resilience, hard work, setbacks, challenges, and success. He will be sharing with learners the journey he has been on, how his confidence was challenged at times and how success is never a straight and easy path. He has suffered injury setbacks and personal challenges when things didn’t go to plan, but has kept moving forward and found success in Europe.
Mo will be delivering presentations to learners and leading some sports sessions alongside Aaron with all Boys Move programmes, so learners can have first-hand experience of the life of a professional sportsperson. This is so interesting for them as it is NOT all glamour and an easy life, far from it. Mo brilliantly explains how difficult life can be even though it can look like a dream life to many. The lessons on resilience and hard work, on building confidence from the inside and not outside is an essential part to being able to be successful. Mo brings real value to the programme and the lessons have been deepened through this partnership.
If you are interested in booking in for a Boys Move programme we can facilitate this from as early as January. The programme is 10 weeks long now but we can accommodate changes to this if needed. Mo is with the boys for the whole of the programme, so is not just a drop in but a mentor to the boys who are involved. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
If the whole 10-week programme is difficult to accommodate, then I am also happy to discuss us doing something on a smaller scale in your school. Please do get in touch and we can see what might be possible.
